A set of measures to protect oak plantations and rational use of wood

Purpose: in the context of the ongoing drying out of oak forests in the Republic of Belarus in recent years, measures to protect sowing and planting material, forest cultures and oak plantations from biotic factors, primarily from pathogens, are of current importance

Brief description: systems of measures have been developed to increase the germination of acorns, improve the condition of seedlings and prevent rotten lesions. The fautism of trees in ripening and ripe oak forests was studied, the physical and mechanical properties of oak wood of various states were determined, and recommendations were given for the rational use of wood. A set of measures has been developed and recommendations for production have been proposed to protect oak seedlings and crops from diseases

Advantages: For the first time, a database on causative agents of acorns, crops and oak plantations has been created. An assessment of the faulty nature of trees and the physical and mechanical properties of oak wood of various states is given. Recommendations for the protection of oak from diseases have been developed. Such a development was carried out for the first time in the Republic of Belarus and has no analogues in the CIS countries.

Form of intellectual property protection: the developed “Recommendations for the protection of oak plantations from the impact of adverse biotic factors” are included in the Register of technical normative legal acts No. 000192 of 03/09/2011

Technical and economic results: the proposed measures and recommendations make it possible to improve the condition of seedlings and oak crops by 10%, to increase the biological resistance and survival of crops by 5%. The recommendations can be used in the forestry of the CIS countries De
velopment stage: implemented in the state forestry institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus
