TECHNOLOGY OF OBTAINING FURFUROL

Description of the project: A solution containing sulfuric and readily available organic acids is used as a catalyst for the conversion of pentosan-containing raw materials (corn cobs, bagasse, deciduous wood chips) into furfural. According to the developed technology, it is possible to process almost any pentosan-containing raw material (with the exception of raw materials with a moisture content exceeding 60%). When using the proposed technology, the technological scheme for processing furfural-containing condensate does not require any changes.

Advantages: The technology of obtaining furfural using complex catalysts allows increasing the yield of furfural by 10% in comparison with technologies that use 10% and concentrated sulfuric acid.
