LIQUID CRYSTAL, ANISOTROPIC COMPOUNDS

Description of the project: The technology for producing anisotropic materials is based on the use of anisotropic compounds – 3,6-disubstituted cyclohex-2-enones, trans-2,5-disubstituted cyclohexanones, 3,5-disubstituted 2-isoxazolines, 5-substituted cyclohexane-1,3 -diones, 1,2-disubstituted cyclopropanols and unsaturated epoxyketones, as well as similar polyfunctional substances.

Benefits:

The developed technologies for obtaining anisotropic materials are characterized by the following advantages in comparison with the known

  • starting reagents, solvents, catalysts, etc. available and cheap
  • synthetic schemes are shorter in 2-3 stages and make it possible to obtain final LC and anisotropic compounds with a higher yield.

On the basis of new approaches to the synthesis of liquid-crystalline and anisotropic compounds, materials have been developed for various display and information processing devices, new technologies have been proposed for obtaining anisotropic compounds and materials based on them with a wide range of practical applications.
