TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS FOR PRODUCING STRENGTHENED SHEET GLASS

Description of the project: Reinforced float glass is intended for the production of lightweight, safe multi-layer structures resistant to small arms.

Flexural strength – 225 MPa
; Specific impact strength – 18.5 kJ
/ m2; Roughness – 16–10–3 mm; M
icrohardness – 6430 MPa.

Benefits:

A reduction in the mass of structures by 20–25% in comparison with traditional ones made of unreinforced sheet glass has been achieved, while maintaining their protective properties according to class B3. This will provide savings in basic and auxiliary materials in the production of safe laminated glass, will reduce fuel consumption for special vehicles, improve visibility, simplify the design of glass fastening systems, etc.

Achieved results:

A technological process for producing hardened sheet glass has been developed; testing of prototypes of protective laminated glass, manufactured in accordance with TU RB 290053265.001, according to which they correspond to the third class of resistance to small arms impact according to STB 51.2.06.
