TECHNOLOGY OF PRODUCING GRANULAR HEAT INSULATING FOAMSILICATE MATERIAL (SIVER) BASED ON INDUSTRIAL WASTE

Description of the project: The developed glassy foam material has a thermal conductivity coefficient λ = 0.055–0.065 W / m ∙ K and a low bulk density, within 90–180 kg / m3, depending on the fractional composition, open microporosity makes it an ideal sound insulator and ensures the vapor permeability of structures for its basis. A distinctive feature of the resulting product is its water resistance (weight loss during boiling for 1 hour in distilled water does not exceed 2–3%). The product is odorless and odorless, the organic nature of the material ensures durability, non-flammability, withstands temperatures up to 700 ° C. The environmental safety of the developed material is ensured by the stability of its structure and the absence of harmful emissions hazardous to health. The cost of production is within 45–55 USD. per 1 m3, depending on the particle size distribution. Backfill from granules “Siver” completely repeats the relief of any substrate and has excellent adhesion to most building materials.

Benefits:

  • The Siver production technology does not contain energy-intensive stages and is focused on the use of industrial waste.
  • The main raw material for the production of foamed vitreous materials is silica gel – a waste from the production of mineral fertilizers, which is not used now and pollutes the environment.
  • Granular materials “Siver” have a set of properties close to traditional foam glass, which is considered the standard for thermal insulation materials.
  • The material has a wide range of applications; the possibility of obtaining a fine-grained and narrowly fractionated product, for example, a fraction of 0.5–2 mm, is in great demand on the market.
  • The environmental safety of the developed material is ensured by its inorganic nature, the stability of its structure and the absence of harmful emissions.
  • The temperature limit of material exploitation is up to 750-800 ° С.

Achieved results:

an industrial version of the technological process for the production of foamed heat-insulating material “Siver” was developed, material and economic calculations were carried out, confirming the feasibility of organizing production, the selection and layout of equipment were carried out.

Market and consumers:

The resulting material has a wide functional purpose:

  • heat and sound insulation of objects, lightening of structures, use as backfill for wall ceilings;
  • production of sandwich panels;
  • vapor-permeable enclosed structures;
  • adsorption and filtration of liquids, including oil products;
  • ensuring the unsinkability of objects;
  • – protection of buildings and structures from radiation of various frequencies.
