Method of V2O5 extraction from spent vanadium catalysts of sulfuric acid production

Purpose: the method allows you to extract V2O5 from spent catalysts of sulfuric acid production and dispose of solid residues formed after the separation of vanadium-containing components

Brief description: the proposed hydrometallurgical method allows you to isolate 95-98% of vanadium contained in spent vanadium catalysts. The separated vanadium-containing components comply with the TU requirements for this reagent and can be used for the production of glasses, glazes, as well as paints and varnishes

Advantages compared to analogues: the content of vanadium in secondary raw materials is 50-70 times higher than its content in natural ores, while the specific capital investment for extracting vanadium-containing products from secondary raw materials is 30-50% lower than the cost of processing natural raw materials. The possibility of using solid residues of spent catalysts after the separation of V2O5 for the manufacture of colored glasses and glazes has been established.

Applications: vanadium-containing substances can be used in enterprises of various industries related to the production of ceramics, glass, paints and varnishes, products used in radio electronics, drugs for medicine and the production of fertilizers
