The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RAEN) has announced the 2017 competition for the title of winner of the EcoWorld International Environmental Award.

The EcoWorld International Environmental Award is a public award for excellence in environmental protection and environmental safety, as well as other environmental activities aimed at sustainable development in the 21st century. The competition should promote environmental policy, improve environmental education and environmental culture, promote environmental science, promote clean technologies, improve public health and conserve biodiversity.

Both legal and individuals, author collectives that directly initiated and implemented projects, programs and actions aimed at preserving the environment and ensuring environmental safety can act as applicants of the Prize. The award is awarded in 6 categories (environmental policy and environment; environmental education, education and culture; environmental development, resource-saving and waste-free technologies; environmentally friendly goods and food; ecology and human health; conservation of biodiversity and landscapes).

The most effective environmental projects identified by the competition can be implemented in various countries, including the Republic of Belarus. The selection of participants is based on submitted applications and documents confirming the implementation of submitted projects, programs and shares. The terms and requirements for submitting applications and to the contestants are contained in the EcoWorld International Environmental Award Regulations.
