GLASSES WITH PBS / PBSE NANOPARTICLES

Description of the project: Silicate glasses with PbS / PbSe nanoparticles are a promising material for use as bleachable media, in particular, passive switches for mode locking and Q-switching of solid-state near-IR lasers used in ophthalmology, fiber-optic communication systems, optical location and ranging.

Benefits:  

Provide spectral absorption and clearing at a wavelength of 1.01 – 1.86 µm due to the formation of PbS / PbSe nanoparticles with a size of 4.0–8.2 nm.

Low temperatures of glass synthesis and heat treatment make it possible to reduce energy consumption for its production.
