WEAR RESISTANT BIOCIDAL GLAZE FLOOR TILES

Description of the project: Compositions of wear-resistant coatings of ceramic floor tiles have been developed, possessing the required physical and chemical properties, decorative and aesthetic characteristics and providing, among other things, antibacterial protection

Technical characteristics: surface texture – matte; heat resistance – 200–250 ° С; the degree of wear resistance – 3-4; temperature coefficient of linear expansion – (68.0–74.0) · 10–7 K – 1; chemically resistant (GOST 27180-2001), resistant to staining (STB EN ISO 10545-14-2007); antimicrobial activity against the strain of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli (ISO 22196: 2007) – 1.6-1.7.

A complex additive that provides antibacterial properties to glazed floor tiles has the following advantages over existing analogues: provides antibacterial properties of floor tiles during the entire service life of glazed ceramic tiles; does not cause changes in decorative and aesthetic characteristics and physical and chemical properties of glazes; is fed into the ball mill during the grinding of the glaze suspension, so the project does not require additional costs for the purchase of equipment.

Advantages: The economic effect is provided due to the absence of the traditionally used zircobit in the glaze composition, which is an expensive and scarce component; an increase in the service life of ceramic floor tiles due to increased values of the degree of wear resistance (3–4), which will reduce the cost of repairing buildings and structures. The cost of a complex additive required to obtain 1 m2 of glazed floor tiles with antibacterial properties is US $ 1.0–1.4. USA.
