METHOD FOR DETERMINING HYDROCARBON COMPOSITION OF SOLID OIL PARAFFINS

Description of the project: For the rational use of petroleum paraffins, as well as for the production of paraffin-containing petroleum products of a given quality, it is necessary to study their chemical composition in detail in relation to their physicochemical and operational properties. The method developed in this regard for determining the composition of fractions of solid petroleum paraffins and products produced from them, based on the gas chromatographic method of analysis, makes it possible to establish the distribution of molecules by the number of carbon atoms in the range n-C17 – n-C44, as well as to determine the content of hydrocarbons of normal and isomeric structure in the specified range of carbon numbers.

Advantages: Te
chnical and economic results of implementation: increasing the efficiency of production process management and improving the quality of products based on petroleum waxes.

Foreign analogue – ASTM D5442. Requires less expensive chromatographic equipment compared to ASTM D5442.
