National Action Plan for the Development of a Green Economy in Belarus until 2020

Green economy is a model of economic organization aimed at achieving the goals of socio-economic development with a significant reduction in environmental risks and the rate of environmental degradation. The National Action Plan for the Development of a Green Economy in Belarus until 2020 was approved by a resolution of the Council of Ministers of December 21, 2016. The development of electric transport (infrastructure) and urban mobility, the implementation of the concept of “smart cities” are named as priority areas for the development of a green economy; development of construction of energy efficient residential buildings and improvement of energy efficiency of the housing stock; reducing the energy intensity of GDP, increasing energy efficiency; increasing the potential for using renewable energy sources; creating conditions for the production of organic products; sustainable consumption and production; development of ecological tourism.
