Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan held a meeting on priority areas for the development of science in the next three years

On January 25, a meeting was held on the priority directions of the development of science for 2017-2020, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Imangali Tasmagambetov, Zakon.kz reports with reference to the Information Committee.

In the modern world, all countries pay special attention to science as a strategically important field of human activity, the country’s fundamental resource, which largely ensures its economic growth and competitiveness.

An increase in the country’s scientific potential depends on many factors, including the commercialization of scientific and technical activities. One of the main documents that regulates this process in Kazakhstan is the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the commercialization of the results of scientific and (or) scientific and technical activities.” A number of promising and commercially effective projects have already been implemented.

“We must clearly and clearly understand how many projects, what we are financing, how long it will take, and most importantly, what will be the return in the future,” Imangali Tasmagambetov said during the meeting.

There is a clear link between funding, research performance and implementation. But it is directly dependent on funding and control mechanisms. In addition, a scientist cannot be equally successful in both science and the promotion of its results into production. For this, appropriate structures and specialists should be involved. It is also necessary to take into account the creation of a pilot production base, on which the approbation and subsequent implementation of developments would be carried out.
