World Entrepreneurship Week in Belarus (GEW Belarus)

The World Entrepreneurship Week in Belarus (GEW Belarus) will take place from 14 to 20 November. 

The main topic of the week is innovative thinking. 

The VI International Entrepreneurship Forum is a key event for GEW Belarus. A unique platform for direct dialogue between business and government with the provision of information necessary for the strategic development of business in Belarus. The Forum will host panel discussions on business support, as well as useful master classes, where speakers will give case studies on the implementation of innovations and their use. 

Main Topics:
Innovative Ideas for Business Support

  • Final GovTech Hackathon: on the eve of the forum, representatives of government agencies, entrepreneurs and IT professionals will work together to improve the efficiency of administrative procedures, improve urban infrastructure and create new business support tools;
  • Panel discussion: innovative ideas for supporting business – an opportunity to directly contact government officials, express their own point of view on existing problems, get answers to pressing questions;   
  • Estonian experience in innovative business support;
  • Interaction of ecosystem players to stimulate innovation. Using Detroit as an example, Faris Alamy, President of International Strategic Management Corporation (USA), will show how the state, big business, universities cooperate in the field of entrepreneurship development.

Financial support for innovation in developing countries: lessons and challenges

  • Experts from international financial organizations about what the domestic business needs, about what programs are already in operation and will still be opened in Belarus.
  • A successful example of partnership between private business and international organizations in support of innovation. Zubr Capital Fund I case presented by Nikolay Shestak – head of the fundraising project Zubr Capital
  • Panel Discussion: Opportunities for Angel Funding in Belarusian Realities

Implementation of innovations and trends of the future:

  • What technological trends of the future are important to know in order to build a business today;
  • How to effectively implement innovations – examples of successful domestic companies
  • Panel Discussion: How to Create a Knowledge Economy
  • Innovative thinking – his view will be presented by Rish Lothlikar, founder and director of the virtual reality studio The Rogue Initiative (USA), investor.

Entrepreneurship week will include:

 Startup conference, GovTech Hackathon, festival “I am the future entrepreneur”, Mobile entrepreneurship laboratory

The organizer of the forum is the BELBIZ Group of Companies, the co-organizer is the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, the partner is USAID. The event is supported by the Ministry of Economy.
