FIBER PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY

Description of the project: Fiber is a solid monolithic material obtained by gluing and pressing several layers of base paper treated with a parchment reagent.

There are 10 types of fiber that differ in properties and pur
pose: – for the manufacture of extra str
ong parts; – as oxygen-resistant gaske
ts; – for thermal i
nsulation; – for seals in the joints of metal structures and pipeline
s; – for the manufacture of machine parts
and devices; – as an electrical insulating
material ; – as a structural material.

The leading foreign manufacturers of fiber are: USA (4 enterprises), Germany (1 enterprise), China (1), Russia (1) and Ukraine (3).

Specific properties of fiber depending on the production technol
ogy: – increased fire resi
stance; – ultra-high mechanical streng
th; – low density (1.2-1.5 g / cm3 according to DIN 7737 and 1.1-1.2 g / cm3 according t
o TU 5458- 835-0248643-92); – fiber products withst
and pressure up
to 40.0 MPa; – elasticity; – high d
ielectric strength; – unsurpassed arc
suppression properties; – easily molded into pro
ducts of various shapes; – easily processed mechanically: it can be sawed, cut , planing, drilling, milling, turning on lathes, applying any profile thread, grinding, polishing, etc. –
does not dissolve in kerosene, gasoline, alcohol, acetone, mercury, etc.

Benefits:

In terms of physical and mechanical indicators, fiber is superior to textolite, getinax and some plastics, but it is much cheaper and has a number of the above specific pr
operties. In terms of strength and durability, fiber can replace metal products and metal parts used in them.

Results achieved: practical recommendations have been developed for organizing serial low-tonnage production of domestic fiber:

sheet fibe
r roll (roll) fiber
fiber tubes

Market and consumers:

  • mechanical engineering – as a cushioning material in pumps, hydraulic presses, gasoline and oil lines, carburetors, high-pressure pipelines (up to 40.0 MPa) of various gases and liquids, for the manufacture of silent gear wheels, rollers, cuffs in compressors and hydraulic presses when pressure up to 40.0 MPa, etc. etc .;
  • electrical engineering – for the manufacture of electrical insulating gaskets, buttons, tubular fuses, handles, crossbeams of switches, firing arresters, lighting fittings, etc. etc .;
  • automotive industry – as a material for tubes of ignition wires, electrical parts, pads for springs, shields, gears and other equipment;
  • in the aircraft industry – for the manufacture of instrumentation parts, petrol and oil tanks, pilot seats.
