Wood and metalworking tools modified with ion-plasma coatings

Purpose: increasing the performance and service life of tools

Distinguishing features: due to coatings formed by condensation with ion bombardment (ICB), chemical thermal treatment (CHT), on the cutting edges of tools and processing by compression plasma flows (CP) of the surface of the cutting edges of tools, the following occurs:

  • increase in the wear resistance of the improved tool up to 500% when cutting softwood and up to 800% when processing products from low-alloy steels;
  • increase in tool life up to 900% in metalworking;
  • increasing the utilization rate of machine time up to 50%;
  • increase in productivity of the cutting process by 15 – 20%.

Form of intellectual property protection: application for an invention “Method of forming a wear-resistant coating on a cutting tool”
