Week of the Horizon 2020 program – 2015, September 21-23, 2015 in Minsk

In 2014, the European Union’s Framework Program for Science and Innovation “Horizon 2020” (hereinafter – the Program) began – the world’s largest international cooperation program in this area, open to the participation of legal entities and individual scientists from Belarus. In the first year, 11 projects were accepted for financing with the participation of domestic partners with a total budget for the Belarusian side of over 1.6 million. Euro.

In autumn 2015, the European Commission will open the second cycle of the Horizon 2020 project competitions – the 2016-2017 competitions. A series of events has been timed to coincide with this event, aimed at informing interested parties about the content of competitions in certain priority areas of the Program and improving work skills in Horizon 2020.

Horizon 2020 Week 2015 includes:

1) September 21, 2015 – Information Day with a focus on the priority areas “Energy” and “Climate and Natural Resources”, as well as the program of Maria Sklodowska-Curie to support international mobility and development of scientific career and a number of other programs and tools that do not have thematic restrictions and promote integration into ” Horizon 2020 “. The goal is to present in detail the topics, requirements and schedule of future competitions, to provide information on the first results of the Program, to present projects carried out with the participation of teams from Belarus. A short list of areas included in the program of the energy and environment competitions is attached.

Representatives of scientific organizations, universities, innovation companies, subjects of innovation infrastructure, public organizations and specialists from government bodies in charge of science and innovation are invited to participate in the information day.

The number of participants is not limited. Languages – Russian, English, simultaneous translation will be provided.     

2) September 21-22, 2015 – Training 1 for the participants of the Program on the priority areas “Energy” and “Climate and Natural Resources”. The event will help beginners get to know more deeply the rules, logic and mandatory documents of the Program, gain practical skills in working with the Participant Portal and other electronic services, and get advice on how to form their own strategy for participation in Horizon 2020.

3) September 22-23, 2015 – Training 2 for Program participants in the direction of “Information and Communication Technologies” with an emphasis on the development and evaluation of project applications. More …

The trainings are intended for professionals interested in applying.

Conditions for participation in trainings: compulsory knowledge of English, translation is not provided, the number of participants is limited. The presence of a project idea is encouraged. 

The organizer of the Week is the Belarusian Institute for System Analysis and Information Support of Science and Technology (BelISA) with financial support from the EU projects IncoNet EaP, EAST-HORIZON and EECA-2-HORIZON. The events will take place in the Victoria hotel at Winners, 59.
