Melamine alkyd enamel ML-12 PTS
Application area of the development: for painting metal surfaces, previously prepared and primed with alkyd or epoxy anticorrosive primers, exposed to atmospheric influences
Brief essence of the development: creation of a formulation of a new import-substituting melamine alkyd enamel based on domestic film-formers and solvents
Main technical characteristics of the development:
– color – carmine red under RAL 3002 and black-brown under RAL 8022;
– drying time to degree 3 of enamel coatings at a temperature of (80 ± 2) ° C – no more than 60 minutes, at a temperature of (110 ± 2) ° C – no more than 20 minutes;
– bending elasticity of coatings – no more than 1 mm;
– pendulum hardness – not less than 0.25 rel. units;
– adhesion – no more than 1 point;
– the strength of the coating upon impact – not less than 45 cm;
– resistance to static action of liquids meets the requirements for baked melamine alkyd enamels;

Comparison of the development with analogues: enamel coatings are cured at a low temperature – 80 ° C and 110 ° C. The domestic analogue ML-12
is cured at 135оС, the foreign analogue Magyar-Lakk (Budapest) – at 120оС. The forming coatings have a modern complex of physical, mechanical and protective properties. The coating, consisting of a single layer of ML-12PTS enamel, applied to a prepared primed surface, in a temperate and cold climate retains its protective and decorative properties for five years up to scores of no more than AZ1 and AD1.
