ANODE FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL PROCESSES
Project Description: The anode contains a valve metal base (titanium) and an active coating of iridium oxide, titanium oxide and base metal oxide (cobalt or nickel). The active coating is formed by thermal decomposition of a solution containing hexachloridic acid, titanium tetrachloride, cobalt or nickel nitrate.
The use of the proposed anode, which is a valve base with a thin active layer of metal oxides deposited on it, makes it possible to reduce the consumption of the noble metal, as well as the voltage across the electrolyzer and the specific power consumption.
Advantages: The anode allows to reduce the electrode potential by 7-15%, and the consumption of noble metal by 30-50% compared to the analogs used.
