The State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, with the participation of the Belarusian Innovation Fund, is holding the 7th Republican Innovation Projects Competition in 2nd categories: "Best Innovation Project" and "Best Youth Innovation Project."

The competition is held in order to stimulate the implementation of promising innovative projects, to help in search for investment support for innovative projects, to create a system to identify and promote young, talented professionals, commercialization of research and development results. The competition considers promising innovative projects with a detailed implementation strategy (commercialization) and relevant to the priority areas of scientific and technical activities in the Republic of Belarus.

The contestants may be legal and natural persons. Individuals under the age of 35 can take part in the Best Youth Innovation Project category. Contestants independently choose which nomination includes the innovative project they represent.

The competition is held in four stages:

  1. The selection of projects among the winners of the republican youth project "100 Ideas for Belarus" and other republican contests approved by the competition council for participation in the competition this year – until June 1, 2016.
  2. Receiving applications and pre-selection of projects – until September 1, 2016.
  3. Examination of innovative projects – until November 1, 2016
  4. The winners and prize-winners of the competition are November-December 2016.

Among the participants of the first stage for further participation in the competition are selected 20 projects, applicants of which will receive money in the amount of up to 40 tariff rates to develop business plans of innovative projects in order to further participate in the competition.

In order to prepare the participants for the consideration and protection of innovative projects, a training seminar will be held in October 2016 with the participation of leading Belarusian specialists in innovation and venture and business planning.

Based on the results of consideration and protection of innovative projects, the competition board determines the winners and prize-winners of the competition. Each nomination has one winner and five prize-winners, including two runners-up and three third-place finishers.

The winners and prize-winners of the competition are awarded diplomas and prizes:

  • for the first place – 60 tariff rates of the 1st category;
  • for second place – 40 tariff rates of the 1st class;
  • for the third place – 20 tariff rates of the 1st class.

Among the winners and prize-winners of the competition, the competition board selects projects for further commercialization of their results. Projects selected to further commercialize their results receive a certificate qualifies for the purpose of these projects at a rate of 400.

To participate in the competition, it is necessary to pass mandatory registration on the website of the competition http://konkurs.bif.ac.by, filling out the mandatory forms set by the organizers (application, passport and business plan of the innovative project), and send in print by September 1, 2016 a set of competition documents addressed to the Belarusian Innovation Fund (220002, Minsk, V. Khoruzhei Street, 31A, 403).
