Belarusian Innovation Fund Announces Start of Selection of Innovative Projects to Finance Through Joint Russian-Belarusian Venture Investment Fund

Both newly created and actively growing Belarusian companies with promising innovative developments, especially in the field of industrial technologies, are invited to participate in the competition of projects. The most interesting sectors are: instrumentation, microelectronics, medicine, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, etc.

Belarusian companies are offered the opportunity to receive financing of their innovative projects on individual terms through the entry of the joint fund into the share capital.

Applications are accepted until June 25, 2017 inclusive.

Reference: In December 2016, the Belarusian Innovation Fund and the Russian Venture Company signed an investment partnership agreement "Russian-Belarusian Venture Investment Fund" to finance promising developments in Belarus and Russia.

The size of the fund is 1.4 billion Russian rubles (as of May 2017 – $24.5 million. U.S.) with contributions on a parity basis: 50% of the project – the Belarusian side, 50% – Russian. The total period of the fund's activity is 10 years, including 5 years of investment period.

The investment focus of the fund is companies that have at the heart of their product/service innovative technology, which has the potential to sell in the single market of Russia and Belarus.
