COMPOSITE ELECTROLYTIC COATING CHROM-UNM

Description of the project: The proposed development relates to the modernization of a typical electrolytic chromium plating process, to improve the mechanical, tribotechnical, anticorrosive and decorative properties of the chrome coating.

The coating increases the hardness, wear resistance, gives decorative and anti-corrosion properties to rubbing surfaces of steel products, such as: shock absorber rods, cutting tools, surfaces of molds, dies, cylinder liners and compression rings of internal combustion engines, as well as matrices of other units operating under conditions high loads during friction, abrasion and cavitation.

The process is carried out on standard electroplating equipment, it allows to apply various types of chrome plating in one bath, varying the current and temperature conditions.

Advantages: – i
ncreasing the microhardness of the coating to 1120-1250 HV0.1
; – increasing the current output of chromium u
p to 24%; – reducing the dry friction coefficient to 0.05-0.07 (indenter Steel
40); – increasing the corrosion resistance up to 160 h in a salt fog chamber with 5% NaCl at a temperature o
f 35 ° C; – during operation, the electrolyte is corrected only with chromic anhydride and does not require constant adjustments for expensive additives.
