ELECTROCHEMICAL RECOVERY OF DIAMONDS AND METALS FROM DIAMOND-ABRASIVE TOOLS

Project Description:

To apply a diamond-containing composite layer to the body of the cutting tool, reverse and pulse electrolysis is used.

The current density when receiving composite coatings is 5-30 A / dm2; the duration of the cathode impulse is 5-50 ms, the coating thickness is up to 400 microns; the size of diamond grains in the coating is up to 400 microns.

Benefits:

The use of non-stationary electrolysis in the production of composite diamond-containing galvanic nickel coatings allows:

  • deposit coatings 5-10 times faster than traditional electrolysis;
  • to obtain various types of coatings by changing only the electrical parameters of electrolysis;
  • to obtain coatings without brightening additives in the electrolyte.

There is a decrease in rejects when applying coatings by 3–5 times, an increase in the deposition rate of coatings by 5–10 times. The payback period for this technology is less than a year.
