PRODUCTS FROM COMPOSITIONS BASED ON THERMOPLASTIC MATERIALS
Description of the project: Products are made of highly filled (up to 70 wt.%) Composite materials based on thermoplastic polymers, incl. secondary, weighing up to 5 kg with dimensions in terms of up to 1.0×0.5 m, having a thickness difference, ribs, tides, bosses, embedded parts, etc. It is possible to apply decorative coatings directly during the molding process.
Benefits:
Products can be radio-transparent, resistant to aggressive environments. They are characterized by reduced weight while maintaining the required rigidity and strength.
In order to ensure the competitiveness of products, the options for its design, technology, type of equipment and materials used are selected depending on the purpose and production volumes of products.
Used polymers with both low and high viscosity of large-scale production, as well as secondary (polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, ABS, PET, etc.); it is possible to introduce into the polymer fillers of various nature (textile, vegetable and mineral origin) both to reduce the cost and to increase the operational characteristics.
Waste-free options for obtaining products and their disposal after the end of operation are possible.
Achieved results:
Technology. Methods of molding products have been tested on many high-viscosity secondary polymers and highly filled compositions in the laboratory of BSTU and in pilot-industrial conditions.
Samples of materials.
Models of products.
Market and consumers:
Products for military-industrial, automobile, construction, sports and tourism, agricultural purposes, for municipal services.
– targets of various t
ypes, – elements of car engine casings, – co
ntainers for protecting and carrying valuable instru
ments, – elements of soil strengthening: geogrids, tiles, curbs, e
tc., – plastic bulle
ts, – fasteners made of reinforced thermoplastics,
– gear wheels , pulleys made of reinforced materials
, etc.
Prospective forms of cooperation:
The works have an experimental-technological and experimental-design focus, therefore it is advisable to perform them for a specific customer within the framework of an agreement with him.
