Seminar "Public-private partnership in innovation"

Seminar “Public-private partnership in innovation”

On December 4, 2014, the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus (SCST) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) are holding a scientific and practical seminar “Public-private partnership in innovation” in Minsk. It will continue the cycle of joint events between SCST and UNECE on improving the state innovation policy in Belarus, launched in 2012. The event was organized by the state institution “Belarusian Institute for System Analysis and Information Support of Science and Technology” (GU “BelISA”) with the participation and support of the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian Innovation Fund.

Seminar objectives:

1) to familiarize participants with the best foreign experience in the creation and operation of innovative platforms and the use of public-private partnership tools for their development;

2) to provide an opportunity for specialists to discuss the possibility and expediency of adapting this experience to the conditions of Belarus to solve the tasks set by the country’s leadership for the development of high-tech industries.

At the seminar, it is planned to present the experience of the European Union, its member countries and the Russian Federation in creating innovative platforms that strengthen horizontal ties within the national innovation system – technology platforms, clusters, Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) and others. This experience can be useful for Belarus, where, according to domestic economists, there are basic conditions for the formation of high-tech clusters in the field of biomedicine and new materials. Such mega-projects, if successful, can become the engine of the national economy, but from the very beginning they require partnership between the state and business.

To participate in the seminar are invited:

– heads and employees of ministries and other government bodies, whose activities are related to the topic of the seminar;

– heads of organizations – potential participants in high-tech clusters and other national innovation platforms, regardless of the form of ownership of enterprises;

– representatives of business unions;

– scientists whose field of scientific interests overlaps with the topic of the seminar, and who could contribute to the dissemination of the information received.

Participation in the seminar is free. Pre-registration is required. Please send the completed application (s) for preliminary registration by November 27, 2014 to the address: registration@belisa.org.by (Evgeny Alexandrovich Gurinov, State Institution “BelISA”, tel. Language – Russian and English, simultaneous translation will be provided. The seminar will be held at the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus at the address: Minsk, st. Moscow, 17. Start at 10 o’clock.
