India will annually provide scholarships to young scientists from Belarus. The Indian side made this decision at a meeting of the joint Belarusian-Indian Commission for Cooperation in Science and Technology, which took place in New Delhi, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported.
The first five young Belarusian scientists have been identified, who will begin internships in March 2015 and will participate in research work in leading research centers in India.
In addition, it was decided to hold in 2015 two joint scientific and practical seminars in promising areas for both sides: information technology and cybersecurity, nanotechnology and nanomaterials.
Following the meeting, a protocol of the joint commission and the Executive Program of Belarusian-Indian cooperation in science and technology for 2015-2017 were signed. The parties plan to hold joint scientific seminars, promote technology transfer and exchange of information, and support visits of scientists. For joint implementation and financing, 9 research projects have been approved in such areas as bioinformatics and biotechnology, nanotechnology and nanomedicine, photonics, ecology and environmental management, renewable energy sources.
The parties also agreed to work out the holding of full-scale Days of Science in Belarus in 2015 in India during the Indian International Trade Fair.
