INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PROCEDURE FOR CONDUCTING INVENTORIZATION OF PLANTING OF WILDERGARDS AND DENDROPARKS OF FORESTRIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS

Description of the project: A method has been developed for the inventory of decorative coniferous and deciduous woody plants of local and introduced flora of mother gardens and arboretums of forestry enterprises of the Republic of Belarus, including scales for assessing the state of plants, their reproductive ability, decorative characteristics, morphometric indicators of growth and development, resistance to diseases and pests , features and efficiency of use in landscape compositions. Competitiveness is due to the lack of analogues, taking into account the specifics of the growth and development of ornamental woody plants in local natural and climatic conditions, a significant amount of work on the creation of new and reconstruction of existing mother gardens and arboretums on the territories of forestry enterprises of the Republic of Belarus.

The development is aimed at expanding the range and growing adapted to local growing conditions of planting material of coniferous and deciduous species, which will reduce the volume of imports of seedlings of ornamental woody plants on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

Advantages: Environmental safety is ensured by the focus of development on the preservation and enrichment of the gene pool of decorative woody plants on the territory of the Republic of Belarus; reduction of damage from the impact of unfavorable environmental factors on the basis of identifying promising resistant species, varieties and garden forms of woody plants, growing their planting material in forest nurseries with the aim of further use in landscape construction.
