Tigran Sargsyan: "The introduction of digital technologies must go hand in hand with industrial innovations"
Digitalization is fundamentally changing the economic paradigm, our life and a lot of ideas about how society is organized. “This is one of the most important trends of our time, and we must not only adapt to these global changes, but also get ahead of the course of events,” Tigran Sargsyan, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), is sure. He stated this when opening the second International Forum of Eurasian Partnership on October 6 in Yerevan (Armenia).
Tigran Sargsyan noted that the leaders of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) not only initiated the development of national programs for the digital transformation of economies, but also instructed the EEC to develop the Main Directions for Digital Development of the EAEU until 2025. “This means that our presidents understand the importance of coordinated actions and are ready to jointly implement digital initiatives,” the Chairman of the EEC Board believes. – The governments of five countries also attach key importance to this topic. Russia and Kazakhstan already have their own strategies, three other countries have also announced them. We will discuss these issues on October 11 at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Sochi. Our goal is to identify the main advantages that we possess, so that each of the countries of the Union could find a strong competitive position both in the Eurasian market and in the global economy. This is our opportunity to support those industries that can work for the entire integration associat

“The uniqueness of the situation lies in the fact that the participating countries received additional powers and expanded their economic sovereignty within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Tigran Sargsyan noted in his speech. “This means that, regardless of population size, gross national product, territory, we all have equal rights and decision-making opportunities that apply to the entire Eurasian Union.”
The Chairman of the EEC Board drew the attention of the forum participants to the fact that the introduction of digital technologies should be closely linked with industrial innovations. Without this, the growth of business competitiveness and the modernization of the real sector of the economies of the EAEU member states are im
