Integrated GLC method for establishing the quality and authenticity of essential oils
Purpose: the development refers to methods of establishing the quality and authenticity of essential oils of medicinal and spicy-aromatic plant raw materials of the Republic of Belarus
Brief description: quality control and authenticity of essential oils is carried out on obtaining “chromatographic fingerprints” of the essential oil using non-polar and chiral chromatographic columns. The quantitative ratios of enantiomers of characteristic compounds are an individual characteristic of an essential oil and does not depend on the phase of ontogenesis and the method of preliminary preparation of plant raw materials, as well as the terms and conditions of storage of the essential oil.
Benefits: The technique is a simple, reliable, informative and inexpensive way to establish the quality and authenticity of essential oils. In comparison with the known analogs, the implementation of the development does not require lengthy and laborious sample preparation, complex detecting devices, creation of unconventional and complex software.
